2030 - The year of the Dog

THE DOG
2030, 2018, 2006, 1994, 1982, 1970, 1958

3rd of February

Those born under auspices of the dog are honest, friendly and trustworthy. They are protective, generous in their love and have a strong sense of justice. They are also intuitive, good judge of characters and are able to figure out human nature almost instantly.
Diplomatic they may be but they are equally fast with their razor sharp barbs when slighted. Like the animal itself, they are homebodies who care deeply for their families above else. On the negative side, dogs can be overly judgmental and self-righteous. Nothing is good enough for the. Their eternal quest for the right way at times ends in all consuming depression or disappointment. Dogs find it hard to compromise and may refuse to get off their high horses.

There are five types of Dogs, each with different characteristics:

Type of Dog Year of Birth Characteristics

Wood Dog 1934, 1994 Sincere, reliable, considerate, understanding, and patient
Fire Dog 1946, 2006 Intelligent, hardworking, and sincere
Earth Dog 1958, 2018 Communicative, serious, and responsible in work
Gold Dog 1910, 1970 Conservative, desirable, cautious, and always ready to help others
Water Dog 1922, 1982 Brave and self-centered, even seemingly selfish; well-versed in dealing with financial issues

Type of Dog   Year of Birth   Characteristics

Wood Dog   1934, 1994   These Dogs are trustworthy and polite. If given help, they’ll do whatever they can to repay the kindness. They adhere strongly to their morals and ethics. Others can find it hard to understand. They do well in jobs that require patience and will keep fighting until they succeed.

Fire Dog   1946, 2006   These Dogs are dream chasers. They generally have smaller dreams that are easy to fulfill, which motivates them to continue on. When friends have trouble, they’ll give advice but won’t set out immediately to help. Every step must be thought out carefully before they act.
  xx   xx
Earth Dog   1958, 2018   These Dogs are stubborn and never give up. They aren’t very connected with the world and society. Though stubborn, they respect other perspectives. They believe that as long as they work hard, they’ll make it.

Gold Dog   1970, 2030   These Dogs are traditional and attractive. They have high self-esteem and don’t like receiving help. But they like helping others, though it sometimes causes problems for themselves. They will take over someone’s position and it’ll open up a smooth road to success.

Water Dog   1922, 1982   These Dogs are calculative planners. They focus on building a strong foundation for their future. But when faced with difficulties, they can become very pessimistic. They work hard, but should create bigger goals in order to use their full potential.

Health: Overall speaking, dogs enjoy good health for they are happy all of the time. Dogs are active doing sports, so they are resilient to fight illness, such as colds, coughs, and fever. In heavy work and frequent social activities, in addition to proper excise, they should pay attention to having enough rest, which will benefit both physical and mental health. Since dogs are not crazy about seeking for money and power, they feel less stressed and tense at work and in life.

Career: Due to loyalty in personality, dogs tend to choose a career on the principle of servicing others. Dogs are seen as valuable employees, as they work heart and soul at their tasks. They are easy-going and kind, and always are ready to alleviate the workload of others, which make them very popular in their work circle. Recommended careers for dogs include businessman, doctor, police officer, scientist, counsellor, interior designer, professor, politician, priest, nurse, clerk, and judge.
Dogs are often seen as valuable employees, work well as a member of a team, and are also able to become an accessible leader.

The Best Love Match:

  Horse and Tiger
  xx
Dog and Horse: They will make a happy couple. Both respect each other and value loyalty highly.

Dog and Tiger: They have mutual respect to each other. When a balanced and harmonic relationship is established, they will adventure together to achieve a long term success.

Words of Caution:

The Dog tends to have frequent conflicts with the Dragon. Both have strong and unyielding characters that happen to be hard to relate to each other. The Dragon is too proud to accept the Dog's caustic comments and critical approach. The righteous Dog will not give up and compromised.

The date of the Vietnamese New Year is determined by the Vietnamese calendar, a lunar calendar. The same calendar is used in countries that have adopted the Confucian and Buddhism tradition and in many cultures influenced by the Vietnamese. Vietnamese New Year starts on the first day of the new year containing a new moon (some sources even include New Year's Eve) and ends on the Lantern Festival fourteen days later. This occurs around the time of the full moon as each lunation is about 29.53 days in duration. In the Gregorian calendar, the Vietnamese New Year falls on different dates each year, on a date between January 21 and February 21.
