O Quy Ho Glass Bridge

"Personally, I suggest you book a private van to pick you up in Hanoi and transfer to your accommodation in Sapa. Although it is slightly more expensive, it’s definitely more comfortable. And at the end of the day, you are healthy enough to visit some spots. Also, you can take a bus to Sapa, because the bus ticket is cheaper than the train fare.
Once you have checked in at your hotel in Sapa, you can rent a motorbike to reach O Quy Ho Pass and the Heavenly Gate where the Cloud Dragon Bridge is. If you are not confident with riding a motorbike, the best way is to have a local tour guide to take you there. Traveling by motorbike is far more convenient as there are plenty of other attractions on the way."

Up with the elevator

The Glass Bridge at the O Quy Ho Pass - attracts many visitors. About 17 km from the town of Sapa, the Cau May Bridge walkway hangs from a cliff and is 600 meters above the ground, 60 meters long and five meters wide. It is made of three-layer transparent glass and can withstand the weight of 3,000 people at a time. The construction is firmly attached to a cliff and you have a panoramic view of the O Quy Ho pass and the Hoang Lien Son Mountains, which is 2,000 meters above sea level.

To reach the base of the lift, visitors must travel by car to an altitude of about 300 meters. After this, guests have to walk 70 meters into the tunnel that goes up the mountain. After buying tickets, visitors head to the mountain and take the elevator to the glass bridge. Visitors go up by elevator: to the skywalk. The part where you can walk and view and photograph all details is about 60 meters and 5 meters wide. The view from the Glass Bridge absolutely breathtaking!
The Glass Bridge is completely made of crystal clear glass with 3 layers and has a total thickness of 7cm. The bridge glass is special high-quality tempered glass, which it can carry about 3000 people on the bridge; however, to guarantee the safety reasons of the Glass Bridge, only 500 people (maximum) are allowed to walk across the bridge at the same time.

A look from upstairs

The glass lifts are allowed to transport up to 30 people per ride and at not so high speed to ensure the safety of the tourists (they estimate that the lift system can carry around 1200 people per hour). In addition, the lifts have 3 sides of glass to give tourists the best view on the way to the bridge.
To prevent tourists from slipping on the glass, they must wear a special fabric to cover their shoes when walking across the bridge. The Glass Bridge promises visitors an interesting experience, surrounded by the majestic natural landscape typical of the northwestern mountains and forests.
Previously, visitors had to hike over a forest path for more than four hours to reach the top. Now visitors can choose to take the glass elevator, “the Road to Heaven”. This is the first place in Vietnam with a transparent glass lift, at an altitude of 300 meters.

Take a short break

It is the second glass bridge in Vietnam, after the construction of the first in the tourist Glass Bridge at the Dai Yem Waterfall in the mountainous area near Moc Chau (Son La). It is only 22 meters high. It has no lift and visitors must take a flight of stairs to the glass bridge.

Enjoying the view
