HOA BINH MAP
"On to Hoa Binh! It is getting hilly now and the views are beautiful! Rice fields and rice fields and everything so green! And so warm! We see beautiful landscapes and climb and descend a bit. I take it easy. I didn't have enough coffee this morning, so I can't expect everything from that body, I didn't train a lot in this busy spring.
After 80 kilometers of cycling we finally arrive in Hoa Binh, a decent city. Everyone sits on a chair outside. They are selling things they are cooking and eating with whole families."

Map of Hoa Binh - is very easy to compare with the photo below. We see the river, the streets, the bridge, the (new) television tower and the lake on the right. Hoa Binh province currently consists of one city and ten districts (see the map of the province).
Driving through the insecure but picturesque mountain passes is an exciting way to explore the beautiful countryside, and for those with the strength and endurance, cycling is another ideal way to see the sights of Hoa Binh province.

Hoa Binh is the province of many ethnic minorities. The 7 main minorities are: the Muong, the Thai, the Tay, the Dao, the Mong, the Chinese and the Kinh. Each ethnic minority has been able to maintain its own unique culture. In total there are about 800,000, of which the Muong account for about 63%.
The province is mountainous and caves have been formed, such as Thac Bo cave, Ret cave and Hoa Tien cave. There is a pristine rainforest "Pu Nooc", where adventurous tourists can climb, hike, hunt or swim in natural springs. Man and nature have formed the dreamy Da River to further develop tourism. |

On the way to Mai Chau from Hoa Binh city, stop along the Doc Koon pass to admire the spectacular view over the valley. About 30 kilometers from Hoa Binh city, Kim Boi's hot springs provide a restorative and refreshing retreat, while the surrounding Thuong Tien nature reserve is home to many rare animals, including clouded leopard and sun bear.
In the valley of Mai Chau you can admire the rice fields and the houses on stilts, which are still preserved.
At present time there are more than 50 villages in Hoa Binh, which you can visit. Lac Village (in Mai Chau valley) and Muong Village (10 km from Hoa Binh) are the most famous villages. These villages have been designated by the authorities for ecotourism. In addition, visitors are advised to visit the Culture and Tourism Village in Dong Mo. The village has a Vietnamese ethnic traditional architecture and was created with the aim of preserving the Vietnamese culture.
