MAP HALONG BAY
with its many islands

"After a commercial break at a pearl farm we arrive in Halong Bay. The sun is doing its best but is not really getting through yet. The dirty laundry from the previous cruise is sorted and counted on the quay. We go to our ship by speedboat and are received by the entire loveboat team. The huts are divided and then a delicious lunch. We sail to the island of Cát Bàh for a bike ride to the village of Viet Hai. Here we have a wine tasting of several local rice wines. I dare the Azalia wine, I skip the snakewine. A cobra that has been bobbing around dead for a year doesn't seem that fresh to me. Back on board a dip in the South China Sea and then a five course dinner.
Halong Bay is known for its more than 1900 islands that often rise straight from the sea. Our company claims to sail a route outside the busy tourist areas, but when we moor for the night I count about 20 ships around us.
It is wonderfully quiet here after the five million scooters of Hanoi".

Ha Long Bay en Bai Tu Long Bay

Halong Bay - is a beautiful bay in the north of Vietnam. In this bay are 1969 steep karst islands of different sizes and shapes. Some are green wooded, others inhabited and still others have hidden sandy beaches. With a traditional junk boat - 'junk' in English - you can explore the scenic landscape of Ha Long Bay in two or three days. Such a traditional cruise boat gives you an unforgettable adventure in one of the most scenic places on Earth. During the day you sail between the karst mountains and floating fishing villages, visit ancient caves and in the meantime you also have enough free time to sunbathe and swim in the most paradise spots of the bay.

The green mountain peaks are full of tropical plants and extensive parks, where endangered animals can live in peace, eg on the island of Cat Ba. Here you will find a special diversity of tropical plants and dozens of mammals, such as the endangered Witkoplangoer.
It is therefore a beautiful area that is ideal for cruises, kayaking, exploring caves and visiting one of the many traditional floating villages.
It is possible to rent a single kayak on some islands, but most cruise boats also have them on board. From Hanoi, you will drive in about three hours to Halong city, which is the starting point for most cruises.

If you have booked a multi-day cruise, you can enjoy a "Sunset" drink on board in style in the evening. You can enjoy the view, the music, drinks, snacks. The onboard bar has a wide selection of long drinks, wines and other drinks. On the deck you can enjoy the sunset. Of course there is also a moment when you can swim in the warm water.
