DRAY NUR WATERVAL

"An Ede man explained for me the meaning of DrayNur, a touching story about a couple but I almost forgot now. I had a really sweet time here. I did a lot of things. I met the local people, I saw the way they live near the fall. I also joined a trekking tour along the Serepok river with a nice guide, who can speak English and French fluently.
The sound of fall shocked me when I heard the first time in the late afternoon. It was really wonderful to go inside the cave behind the fall, but also a little bit dangerous, and I could not take any good photos there because of the steam. I think you should visit this place when you're in BMT."

Dray Nur Waterfall

The Dray Nur Waterfall - is located in the Central Highlands, about 25 kilometers Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak province). The waterfall is not yet known to foreign tourists. Especially because the interior is "off the beaten tracks" and they travel south or north along the coastline. You find here only Vietnamese visitors on weekends. The water falls over a 250 meter length of about 30 meters down. It is the most beautiful and largest of the three waterfalls in the Serepok river (tributary of the Mekong). From afar the Dray Nur offers a spectacular panorama. The waterfall is known for its clarity and its incredible legend. Dray Nur means in the local language "Female Waterfall".

According to legend, there was once a beautiful girl and sitting with her boyfriend on a large rock. Suddenly a monster in a column of water and chased the young man away. When the young man returned, he discovered that his girlfriend was kidnapped by the monster. The rocky shoreline next to the waterfall is the place where the young couple sat down and the waterfall is the water column, in which the monster appeared.
According to the local people the sound of the waterfall whispers the story. The mysterious beauty of the waterfall inspires all visitors, usually listening curiously as the legend is told.
The splendour of Dray Nur can elicit some feeling dizzy, but for lovers of adventure is to visit an impressive experience to the falls.

Dray Nur Waterfall

The Dray Nur waterfall ensures that at bottom of the falls three lakes arise. In the first lake you can swim because the water is shallow. The second more you have to be careful because the rocks are very sharp. In the third lake, the water is quite deep, between 8 and 10 meters. From this lake you can walk to a cave on the rocky shore. Also from here there is a panoramic view of the waterfall.
The cave extends over approximately 3,000 square meters. Stalactites and stalagmites in the cave to create an extraordinary atmosphere that visitors find beautiful. It is also possible to walk on forest trails and mentally sinking in ancient trees, whose roots grasp rocks, or admire bats, which fly out at sunset.
In the villages near the waterfall you can see the daily activities of people such as rice milling, or brocade weaving and making hunting tools. You can also drink local rice wine and taste local specialties and hear the stories of the Central Highlands and Dray Nur waterfall.
