Con Dao Town

"The road from the port of Ben Dam to the center of the city of Con Dao is very beautiful. Shark Point, Nhát beach is located on this sunny road. The long sandy beaches, where some pebbles sometimes pop up under the clear blue water, are the places to visit for many visitors. The road from the city center to the airport is also the way visitors like to stop for beautiful photos. One side is the mountain, the other is the sea, the sides of the road are full of red confetti or phoenix purple colors: an extremely poetic image that very few people miss.
The feeling of driving alone on a deserted road is very interesting, there is no feeling of fear, although there was once hell on earth here. On the contrary, I feel so precious and cherish these moments."

Con Son

The capital of Con Dao - called Con Son Town, exactly as this main island is called. The place is quite spacious and has everything a main place should have. There is a wide boulevard, a wet-market, night market, shops and banks. There is little or no high-rise.
In the middle of the boulevard by the sea, Con Son Café remains the only place for a sunset cocktail in the city by the sea. You can also eat here. It's reasonably priced, of good quality, and a nice place to spend an hour or two eating and drinking in the cool evening air. You can also take your drink with you and cross the road and then have your drink on the wall on the coast. Nearby is an old French customs office under large trees.
In the evenings, usually on weekends, the Café has pop music to keep the youth entertained. Sometimes the volume is so loud that the rippling of the waves and the rest on the promenade are drowned out. During the winter months, this Café is sometimes closed for long periods.

However, there are also other Café in the main town. At the corner of Pham Van Dong and Nguyen Van Troi Streets you will find the Infinity Café. This popular café serves juices, smoothies, coffee, cocktails and ice cream. It also bakes its own bread (try the homemade pizzas) and offers excellent Western dishes, including a set breakfast.
It's great for a refreshing mid-day drink or a relaxing after-dinner cocktail. Undoubtedly the 'trendiest' place on the island and a good place to meet other travelers.

What makes us most interesting is that the people here are very friendly and hospitable. The lives of the people on the island are mainly based on fishing and trading services. To meet the travel needs of people and visitors to Con Dao, there are 12 taxis that use Vung Tau Petroleum Joint Stock Company gasoline.
There are banks and ATMs (ATMs) for travelers who are afraid to take a lot of cash with them when traveling. Island safety is also guaranteed, so don't worry if you only withdraw money! You can find ATMs at the Agribank and Vietinbank.

Agribank

The recently repainted Con Dao market houses all kinds of delicious breakfast foods. It's a great place to have breakfast in the morning, especially if you're staying in one of the cheaper accommodations, excluding breakfast. The sooner you get here, the better. The Con Dao market is also a good place to buy ingredients for a picnic to keep you busy during the day as you explore the island.

Con Dao Market is held twice a day, in the morning the market takes place very early from 5am to 10pm and from 4pm to sunset. The market is divided into 2 parts one is the dried goods, vegetables and one side is where fish, meat and seafood are sold. The Con Dao Market is a destination that is always visited by tourists during their journey. The bustling life, laughter, talk of buyers and sellers creates a playful atmosphere with many interesting discoveries. When buying, you don't have to bargain much because the people here are very honest. They hardly ever ask too much. The Con Dao Market is located near Agribank.

The area around the intersection of Tran Huy Lieu and Nguyen An Ninh streets has recently turned into a night market. There are currently about a dozen stalls selling food and souvenirs.

Travelers, who sail to the island by boat, do not arrive in the main town, but in the distant Ben Dam. This is a safe, sheltered place and it is quite deep there. The distance to the main town is about 15 km.

The "wet market".
